That's a pretty sensationalist headline, something you typically click on in bemusement only to find that the article below it really doesn't have anything to do with the title and you've pretty much been duped. We wish we could say that was the case here (well not really), but this is pretty much word for word what Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, recently told
Polygon. Specifically, here is the answer interviewer Brian Crecente received when asking why the other big two console manufactures already have a Twitch App on their consoles.
"
We don't think streaming 30 minutes of gameplay by itself is a lot of fun," Fils-Aime said in answer to my question about whether Twitch could come to the Wii U. And it's not a Twitch thing, he pointed out. Fils-Aime said that Nintendo has a great relationship with Twitch. "
We're looking to do a lot of great things with Twitch," he said. "
The Nintendo Treehouse Live at E3 that we're executing through Twitch is doing fantastic numbers."Your specific question of just purely streaming gameplay, what we've got to think through is, so what's fun about that? From a consumer standpoint, what's fun about it?"

Essentially, Nintendo believe the content they want representing themselves online should be more focused and curated than what's currently out there from the other companies. While maybe not the most reasonable of answers, it is one that makes a clear point. We're just slightly scared this is still "old Nintendo" stuck in the archaic days of pulling YouTube videos for copyright infringement. Having said that, it's easily likely the business-minded people at "the big N" could be focused on bringing out streaming services of their own. It seems only time will tell but it really does make a good headline doesn't it?
