The Final Fantasy franchise is most probably the largest series of games to date, and as we saw from this year's E3, they're not done expanding this universe. At last night's Square Enix event, right before another trailer for the Final Fantasy VII remake was shown, World of Final Fantasy was announced. By that time, no-on was really giving it any attention because SE was trolling and teasing the crowd so hard over the KH3 trailer, everyone was probably trying not to cry. It's not the most initiative title, I'll tell you that much, but WoFF's cute game is extremely strong. Image may be NSFW.

The idea behind this game is that you can collect, raise and battle against or alongside iconic monsters from the FF universe. It will have the normal RPG mechanics, apparently, but nowadays it difficult to know what that actually means. Is it turn-based or free fighting? From the video, it seems like the former but free-form fighting will be welcomed all the same. What makes this game slightly attention worthy is the fact that it doesn't seem to be another re-hash of a story we already know. Instead, the story follows a pair of twins (they look like Roxas and Namine to me) as they move through various FF worlds, unraveling a story of dangerous proportions. These two have the ability to "stack" during battle, this means they are able to either shrink themselves or their captured creatures down so that they can ride each other*. This stacking ability allows you to literally stack creatures like an adorable Chocobo and a tiny Cactaur onto your head so that new battle combinations can be achieved. I kind of wish I owned one of those consoles because I genuinely want to play this little Pokemon-like game. *Now, now. This is a game for children, too. Can't have you thinking things like that.[gallery ids="87395,87396,87397,87398,87399,87400"]
